The vacuum tube heated to about fifty degrees centigrade to burn out the gunpowder, and fired the charges of lead and powder in the shell. The shell was not, of course, big enough to carry them all, but a big enough one for six. Usually the fuses were single, but for high-explosive shells they were three, to burst on detonation. Although methods of firing were changed little for the rest of the war, they were often simplified for easy and sure fire use.
In the original Silent Hunter, there is only one weapon at your disposal at the beginning: a bazooka-like anti-tank weapon that can be used to destroy tanks and other armored vehicles with a single charge. Later on, the XM262 will come, which can easily blow a tank or an armored vehicle to pieces in a single shot.
The most challenging and most feared part of the Silent Hunter series, for me, is one of the last levels. All of a sudden you find yourself alone with the enemy. There are too many of them. There is too little ammo, and there is no escape route. It is all on you. You can walk around and get in their way, you can hide, but there is no guarantee that they will not find you.
The next obvious step would be to make sure the enemy no longer remembers you. A simple way is to submerge the instant you are detected. This allows you to remain undetected until it is safe to surface. With a bellow of air the hatch opens, and you prepare for the dive. The hatch closes, and the guide tackles the control column. The boat goes down.

Apart from his efforts to reform the family, which controlled financial assets in the West, he began to reform the education provided for everyone in the Muslim world. He was a pioneer in the promotion of the sciences for the public, in particular the use of Arabic, and the dissemination of modern scientific knowledge to a wider audience. He also founded human and political societies in Egypt, Syria, and elsewhere. He continued to be active in politics until his death in Baghdad in 1958. d2c66b5586
