The Aerosoft FAN can be set for either Jet or Bleed (Bomber) mode. The Colonel (Colt) mode is added from the GDL. In Jet mode, the cabin-air is mixed in three places, one for the floor boxes, front and starboard, once for the center floor box, and once for the port floor box. In the Bomber mode, the center floor box is supplied by both AAF and RAF for the whole cabin (the RAF feeds the other floor boxes). The Colonel mode from the GDL replaces the APU, but has a local fan throttle input, and thus gives the FAN (Fan/dic) the airspeed control, which blends the cabin air, empty it, and recirculate it to the sideboxes. This also gives the pilots the resistive control of the FAN when the APU is not active. The speed of the recirculation is proportional to the APU output value, and the sensitivity is set in the cockpit. So the pilots can alter the degree of cabin-air conditioning to suit the ambient temperature and the personal preferences.
