The cover art is the typical character art and the disc art is also in the typical bleach movie art style. The back cover has a short plot summary and some under the line spoilers, which is typical of the manga. The menus are easy to navigate and you can move between the different scenes by pressing the up/down buttons. The only thing I didn't like, was that when you go to the main menu, you can only select between the different scenes and not watch the anime episode from the beginning. You'd have to go to the menu again to watch all the way through to the end. I'm sure it's not an issue for most people, as all the fans will already know when they want to watch the original anime - but it's not an issue for me. The only other thing I noticed is that the videos are very long and I had to add the time. It's 9 minutes long for the Japanese one and I had to add the time for the English one.
The extras are another story. The audio commentary from the director and the acting director is as expected, very bad. The DVD version of the main characters are just in the movie, no special features whatsoever. The theatrical short is also pointless as it's part of the original anime. There's a very interesting scene from the TV anime. I've seen it before and I liked it a lot. You can also watch the trailer for the movie. The rest are all trailers and early teasers. There's a short English dub and a trailer for the Japanese dub.
Now for the tech stuff. The 5.1 mix is quite good, even if you use only one speaker. There's a little crackling here and there - not a deal breaker. The subtitles are poor, just like in every other dub, but with better quality than the one in the original Japanese. You'll really notice it when watching the original. I'm not sure how to reduce the sound levels of the subtitles, I had to leave them as they were. Another thing I noticed, is that the English voices are not as clear as the Japanese ones. It's almost like the voice actors were chosen based on popularity and not on the characters, they sound awful. This is rather glaring. Overall it is passable and you can expect it from this kind of movie. I also noticed that the video quality on the disc is really bad, especially in the scenes with the most action.
